Chapter Highlights Pt. 2

Welcome to the official Panhellenic blog! We are so excited you landed here and are considering participating in #TCURecruitment2015. Below you will find some highlights and accomplishments from the remaining 6 of our chapters' past year. As always, we hope you enjoy and Go Frogs!

Gamma Phi Beta held the 2nd Annual Crescent Cakes philanthropy event that benefits Girls on the Run. We sell pancakes late at night to raise money for the organization that we love so much! The event is filled with delicious pancakes, a DJ and tons of Gamma Phi women having fun and supporting Girls on the Run. Additionally, we had two amazing sisterhood events this past year. The first one was a roller skating event with the entire chapter. The second was a lake day where we rented a boat and spent the day relaxing on the lake with sisters. These two events were a lot of fun!

Kappa Alpha Theta was named the 2014 TCU Chapter of the Year by Fraternity and Sorority Life. Kappa Alpha Theta is very honored to have received this award this past year (and FSL is very proud of all of their accomplishments)! This accomplishment is accompanied by earning first place in grades, seven semesters in a row. Kappa Alpha Theta also held a Gamma Psi networking event with local alumni. An article was even written about this amazing event and sent to Theta headquarters!

Kappa Kappa Gamma held the Kappa Kolor Run during family weekend, which raised over $17,000 to support literacy efforts in motion at George C Clarke elementary! We are very proud of this achievement as it ties our national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental, to a local project where we have been able to see our impact. In addition, The TCU Kappas helped George C Clarke Elementary put on their Centennial Celebration. GCC dedicated a plaque to the Gary Patterson Foundation and the TCU Kappas for their constant support and dedication to the school and its students.

Pi Beta Phi held Dodge the Arrow, our fall semester dodgeball philanthropy event! This event consists of a dodgeball tournament between the different fraternities and sororities to participate in order to raise money to promote literacy. Pi Beta Phi also held a sisterhood event at the Coyote Drive-In Movie Theatre. A ton of girls came out to hang out and watch a movie with one another! It was a great bonding experience that everyone loved attending!

Sigma Kappa was named a three-star chapter, receiving the highest honors possible from our National Headquarters. This makes TCU's Sigma Kappa chapter one of the top four chapters in the country! We are very honored to have received this recognition! Additionally, this spring we held our first ever Sigma Kappa Carnival.  This was an on campus event that Sigma Kappa hosted to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Research, our philanthropy and a cause that we care about deeply.  At this event, we had different games, lots of food, and great times with our sisters and participating teams from other organizations!

Zeta Tau Alpha was awarded for having the highest GPA of any Zeta Tau Alpha chapter in Texas. We are very proud of our girls for their scholarly achievements! Zeta Tau Alpha was also recognized at National Convention for winning the "Crown Chapter" award. This was a great honor for our chapter of which we are very proud!
